چکیده
The pervasive use of toxic nitroaromatics in industrial processes and their prevalence effluent has motivated the development remediation strategies, among which is catalytic reduction to less synthetically useful aniline derivatives. While this area research a rich history with innumerable examples active catalysts, majority systems rely on expensive precious metals are submicron- or even few-nanometer-sized colloidal particles. Such provide invaluable academic insight but unsuitable for practical application. Herein, we report fabrication catalysts based ultralow loading semiprecious metal ruthenium 2–4 mm diameter spherical alumina monoliths. Ruthenium achieved by atomic layer deposition (ALD) activity benchmarked using ubiquitous para-nitrophenol, NaBH4 aqueous protocol. Recyclability testing points very robust catalyst system intrinsic ease handling.

Effect of Nickel Particle Size on Alumina Supported Nickel Catalysts for p-Nitrophenol Hydrogenation
The catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol was investigated over alumina supported nickel catalysts prepared by impregnation reduction method and mechanical mixing method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD and FESEM. The results show that the nickel particle diameter of alumina supported nickel prepared by impregnation reduction method (denoted as Ni/Al2O3) is slightly ...
متن کاملIn situ recyclable gold nanoparticles using CO2-switchable polymers for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol.
CO(2)-switchable gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were prepared by functionalizing AuNPs with CO(2)-switchable polymers. Their dispersion-re-dispersion in and separation from aqueous solution can be easily and reproducibly adjusted by CO(2) bubbling through and removal from the solution, enabling unique CO(2) controllable, efficient in situ recycling of NPs. As compared to non-functionalized AuNPs, t...
متن کاملStable and recyclable Au25 clusters for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol.
Thiol-stabilized Au(25)L(18) monolayer protected clusters (MPCs) were found to be active for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. Results suggest that these MPCs are stable catalysts and do not lose their structural integrity during the catalytic process. High stability under the reaction conditions enables the recyclability of these MPCs.
متن کاملGlucomannan-mediated facile synthesis of gold nanoparticles for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol
A facile one-pot approach for synthesis of gold nanoparticles with narrow size distribution and good stability was presented by reducing chloroauric acid with a polysaccharide, konjac glucomannan (KGM) in alkaline solution, which is green and economically viable. Here, KGM served both as reducing agent and stabilizer. The effects of KGM on the formation and stabilization of as-synthesized gold ...
متن کاملGold nanoparticles supported on titania for the reduction of p-nitrophenol
Supported gold nanoparticles on titania have been prepared using the deposition-precipitation method at several pH levels. The effects of pH on gold loading, particle size and particle size distribution are studied, both below and above the isoelectric point of TiO2. The effects of adjusting the pH before and after the addition of the support to gold chloride solution are also investigated. Gol...
